Performance Reviews Are Private
Posted by StevenFri, 17 Feb 2012 23:26:00 GMT

In this post, you'll learn about access rights within ClearGears -- in other words, you'll learn who can see what, and why.

  • USERS-- In ClearGears, employees are referred to as "users."

Every employee can see his or her own private performance report, as well as the company satisfaction report. Employees cannot see the performance data for their colleagues, nor can they see how individual colleagues have rated them. Comments received by colleagues, on the other hand, can be either anonymous or non-anonymous, depending on the preference of the Commenter.

  • ADMINS -- An admin is the person in charge of ClearGears administration in your office.

An admin can see every employee's personal performance ratings, as well as the company satisfaction ratings. He cannot, however, see how any indivdual has responded to any of the surveys. In other words, he cannot see how Susie has rated David, nor can he see how Susie has rated the company. Furthermore, he will only see Susie's name attributed to comments that she decided to offer David non-anonymously.

  • MANAGERS -- In ClearGears, a manager is someone who is in charge of a team.

Managers have access rights similar to an Admin's, only on a smaller scale. While a manager has the ability to access individual performance data for all of their teammates, this access does not extend beyond the team that they manage. Managers can also access company-wide satisfaction data. As always, responses are anonymous, and survey data is never attributable to any individual respondent.
